Since I have taken on a desk-job, I have gained 10 lbs. of flab, all around my middle - the blasted "love-handles". I am 5'7", 145 now. I am trying to lose 10 lbs., and more concerned with overall tone than huge muscle building. A Dieting website tells me to eat between 1600-1700 calories a day, and, I can focus on protien, for keeping my current muscle, because I don't want to lose any while losing wieght. Any tips from anyone on this???

Fri, July 18, 2008 - 11:10 PMLove-Handles are usually due to excess carbs. Maintaining your daily fiber is important and water intake always important. Ten pounds in your frame is very hard to loose by dieting alone, but bad carbs are probably the culprit, it is better to exchange it for muscle growth which will burn more calories. -

I shall cut down my bread intake, and return to more regular aerobics (and light weights), and see how it goes. Thanks again. ~ Markos.
